Your culture creates your brand

Written by Naja Shafiq

A brand is built from the inside out, it start with your own team and employees.

As your business and company grow, you won’t be in front of your customers anymore, someone else will, people who you hire that it.

They are the point of connection between your brand and your customers.

And you have to take care of that, you wouldn’t want it to happen by accident, you want it to be intentional and on purpose.

Every interaction they have with your customers will shape and influence their perceptions towards the brand.

Those interactions will stacks up, and you better hope what stacks up are positive associations towards your brand and not negative ones.

But how do you control it? How do you make sure your team and employees do things the way you want them to do?

You hire people who aligns with your mindset, your values and vision.

In a branding process, before any design work begins, we usually start with a brand strategy session.

In those process, we first learn about the core and philosophy of the brand,

1/ Purpose. Why you exist beyond money.
2/ Vision. Where are you going towards.
3/ Mission. What you do to get there.
4/ Values. How you do what you do.

These four things are what going to create and shape the culture inside your business and brand.

Ask these four important questions to learn and get clear with what your brand stands for, so that when you’re looking for and hiring new people, you’d know what to look for in them, what to ask them.

You want people who understands what you are building towards and you want them to be onboard with you.

You want people who stands for the same values as you so that when you decide on things, they are with you.

You want people who can be by your side in building the brand together especially when things get hard.

A strong brand starts with a strong foundation, it starts at its core.
