Is your logo good enough?

Written by Naja Shafiq

People often misunderstood what a logo is for. A good logo isn’t just about aesthetic. It need to be functional too.

A logo doesn’t have to say a lot. It’s not intended for communication. A logo is for identification & it need to follow these 3 rules.

Rule 1: Appropriate.

Your logo need to show the quality behind what you do, not what you do. If it’s fashion for women, maybe it’s stylish and elegant. If it’s toys for kids, maybe it’s fun and friendly.

Rule 2: Distinctive and memorable.

Your logo need to be easily recognizable. It need to be easy to remember. It need to stick in people’s mind so that they’re able to describe it well to someone else.

Rule 3: Simple.

Your logo need to be as simple as possible. It need to be timeless, so avoid any design trend. It need to be flexible and look good small or big.

A logo is bad when it’s too generic and too complicated. The magic is finding the balance between something distinctive and simple.
