A jack of all trades is a master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one.
There is actually a lot that we can learn from this statement. It’s true that being good at a lot of things is better than being great at just one thing. But it’s almost always easier to remember someone who’s great at one thing than someone who’s good at everything.
That doesn’t mean you have to be great at just one thing and ignore the rest.
You just need to be known and remembered as a master of one but still as capable as a jack of all trades.
People usually get scared of this idea of getting known for only one thing because it seems to be very limiting.
But afraid not. The purpose behind positioning yourself as a master of one is to get people to come to your doorsteps first and foremost. You can always offer more of what you’re capable of when they’re there at your doorsteps.
So be capable as a jack of all trades but be known as a master of one.
