What it really means to give value to your customers

Written by Naja Shafiq

The most basic thing you need to ask yourself when doing marketing for your brand is what would I think about it if I were in the customers shoes.

Why is that the case?

Well, whatever you do in your business, it should be in the service of your customers. A business is an exchange of values.

The point of your business is to give something in which your customer values so much that they would give you money for it.

That value could be anything from relieving a headache to building a mansion.

Different people want different things. Different people value different things.

But you need to know what it is. Because if you don’t, you’ll be shooting in the dark all the time.

And that ain’t good for your business or your brand.

Dive deep into the minds & hearts of your customers & really empathise. Understand what’s keeping them up at night, what do they want, or don’t want.

Then build your business, brand, or product around that idea. You find a problem & create a solution for & around that problem. It’s better than having a solution & finding a problem that it could solve.

Branding is a game of perception.

And how your customers perceive your business is the key to your brand growth. So make sure every choice you make in your business, will positively affect your brand.

The way you do that is to ask yourself, how would my customers think or feel about this?
